Certified Translations are translations sealed by an Official Certified Translator appointed by the Spanish Foreign Ministry (MAE), who acts as a Notary, publicly attesting to the accuracy of the certified translation, making it valid for use in official institutions and public administrations.

A certified translation is an official translation, performed and sealed by a certified translator, granting it full validity for administrative and legal filings.

Certified translations are normally required for any kind of administrative processes that call for special legal security: notarized documents, marriage certificates, legal resolutions, reports, official diplomas and titles, transcripts, and any other type of document intended for official use.

Occasionally a notarized certification with a Hague Convention Apostille is required.

Certified translations are billed by the document or by the word, depending on the nature of the original. For example, an official translation of a passport or a diploma would be charged by the document, but a legal resolution would be charged by the word.
